Commercial Fridges and Freezers in Sydney

New South Wales is the state we deliver to most after Queensland, and Sydney makes its own demands on a fridge: tight kitchens, busy loading zones, hot western suburbs and customers who expect a cold drink the second the door opens. We're a family business based in Brisbane, with no Sydney showroom, so here's how buying from us works when your business is in Sydney.

Where your fridge comes from

Larger fridges and freezers usually ship straight from the supplier's Australian warehouse rather than from us, and several suppliers have a Sydney base. FED, the supplier of Thermaster, FED-X, Bonvue and Tecnodom, has its New South Wales branch at Moorebank. Moffat (Scotsman and Friginox) has a branch at Rydalmere, near Parramatta. International Catering Equipment, which looks after Anvil, Saltas and Inomak, is at Rosebery, and Coast Distributors, the importer for Follett, Grant and Lassele, has its head office at Berkeley, near Wollongong. SKIPIO Australia runs a Sydney service line as well.

Which warehouse ships your order depends on the supplier's stock on the day. On many FED and Bromic products, the delivery panel on the product page can show whether there's stock in Sydney. Want a delivery price first? Use the delivery box on the product page, or ask us for a quote.

Dispatch and delivery times

When your order is paid and processed, we usually dispatch it within 1 to 3 business days. Metro Sydney deliveries then usually take 2 to 5 business days, and Wollongong and Newcastle usually 2 to 7. Some metro deliveries go from the supplier's warehouse to you on the same day, so the tracking email may arrive late, or not before the truck does. All of these are estimates, not set dates.

Kerbside in a busy city

Our standard delivery is kerbside to a commercial address. The driver unloads at your loading bay or outside your premises, and doesn't carry the unit inside, up stairs or behind the counter. In the CBD, the inner west or a strip of terrace shops, those last few metres are worth planning: where can a truck stop, is there a step or a ramp, and is there a tight turn on the way in? Check the packed size on the product page against your narrowest doorway.

If you need it brought inside, delivered at a set time, or taken to a home, ask before you order and we'll quote a premium delivery. Some suppliers, SKOPE among them, don't deliver to residential addresses at all because of truck size and narrow streets.

Western Sydney runs hotter

The coast gets the sea breeze; the western suburbs often don't. Summer days in Penrith, Parramatta and Campbelltown regularly run several degrees hotter than the city, and 40°C or more out west is not unusual. Makers rate every model for the hottest room it's built to work in, and across our range those ratings run from 25°C up to 43°C. For a kitchen without air-conditioning, or a fridge parked near the grill, choose a rating with room to spare, or look at our tropical rated fridges. Leave the maker's ventilation gap and keep the condenser clear of dust and grease.

Small spaces, busy doors

Plenty of Sydney kitchens and bars are small, so width matters as much as litres. Our product cards show litres, width and doors wherever the maker lists them. A few good places to start:

• Under bench fridges turn the space under a prep bench into cold storage.
• Back bar coolers slide in under a bar counter.
• Pizza prep fridges hold the toppings on top and the dough below.
• Upright drinks fridges put cold drinks where customers can grab them.

We've delivered to 39 New South Wales postcodes so far, from the Northern Beaches, Parramatta and Penrith to the Central Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Bathurst and Bega. Outside the metro areas, delivery usually takes 5 to 14 business days after dispatch. Rural addresses and hard-to-reach spots can attract extra courier charges that checkout doesn't show, and we'll contact you if they apply.
