Water Filter Required

This ice maker is not supplied with a water filter, and one must be fitted. It is a condition of the warranty, and it is what gives you clear, hard ice that melts slowly. We recommend the BWT Water Filter for Blizzard Ice Makers - WFI37000, and its cartridge is replaced every 6 months.

6 Monthly Maintenance Program

All ice machines must be maintained to ensure high performance. The cartridge on the water filter system needs to be replaced every 6 months and the unit must be de-scaled to clean the refrigeration evaporator plate. This maintains the quality of the ice shape and thickness.

• Remove scale and mineral deposits from evaporator plate and water distribution system using approved descaler.
• Sanitise water reservoir, distribution tubes, and bin interior.
• Clean and flush condenser coils (air-cooled units).
• Inspect condenser fan motor and blades.
• Check inlet water valve, float, and filters for correct operation.
• Verify ice thickness probe or sensor calibration.
• Inspect refrigerant pressures, superheat, and subcooling - adjust if necessary.
• Test compressor amperage and general performance.
• Inspect water pump operation and clean pump housing.
• Check harvest cycle operation (heater or hot gas valve).
• Inspect electrical connections, relays, and contactors.
• Replace inline water filter cartridge.

This work should be carried out by a qualified refrigeration technician.
